Angélica María Barbosa Rodríguez
Angélica is a performing artist and dancer from Colombia. She studied at Pontificia Javeriana University (Bogotá, Colombia) and at the Institut del Teatre (Barcelona, Spain). She moved to New York in 2022 to continue her professional dance training at the Ailey School and as a scholarship trainee in Limón Pro. She received supplemental training at institutions such as P.A.R.T.S (Brussels, Belgium), Dart Dance Company (Berlin, Germany), Martha Graham School (NYC), and GALLIM (NYC), where she was also an administrative and marketing intern. Angélica loves working with kids and is a teaching artist with organizations such as Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre/Notes in Motion and Ballet Hispánico. She has collaborated in music videos with prominent Latino artists, including Latin Grammy winner Juliana Velazquez and the iconic Colombian Rock Band “Aterciopelados”. Angélica also starred as one of the main actresses in the Colombian TV miniseries “Desde Adentro” “From the Inside” by Buenavida Films. She has performed in New York works by José Limón, Kayla Farrish, Rosalie Jones (DAYSTAR), Valerie Green (Dancentropy), Petra Zanki, Ximena Garnica & Shige Moriya (LEIMAY Foundation), ZarAika Dance Collective, and Yang Sun & Poets. Her own choreography has been featured in venues such as New York City Center and Lincoln Center, showcasing her voice as a choreographer.
